Q-Sub Hire
The d&b audiotechnik Q-Sub is a passive subwoofer loudspeaker manufactured by d&b audiotechnik, and is the sub component of the Q-series – a perfect accompaniment to either the Q1, Q7 or Q10. The Q-sub is incredibly powerful (contains a single 18″ driver, outputting 133dB SPL) for its compact size and as such can be suited to a wide variety of applications- anything from a small private function (discos, weddings etc.) to medium-sized festivals covering many thousands of people.
The Q-Sub can be either ground stacked (up to 3x units height), or flown using the d&b Q-Series Flying Frame, available for hire from Fusion Sound & Light. It can be powered using d&b D6, D12, D20 or D80 amplifiers, and up to two units can be driven on each amplifier channel, allowing a D12 to drive 4x units for instance.
As previously stated, the Q-subs are incredibly well-built and very compact units, weighing just 42kg and having dimensions of 493x580x668mm – if you remove the front cover revealing the driver you will see that the loudspeaker cabinet is not much larger than the circumference of then driver itself!
